Yamaha Electronics Corporation has introduced its next-generation DLPô projector, the DPX-1000.The DPX-1000 is centered around Texas Instruments' latest HD2 chipset, and is capable of delivering 1080i or 720p HD with a 1280 x 720 native resolution chip and 16:9 aspect ratio. The DXP-1000 also features a motorized lens shift and digital keystone correction. Fine tuning the picture can be accomplished through built-in black/white/fleshtone levels and color balance. A 270-watt UHP lamp is included.In addition, a new high-speed six-segment color wheel is used, and the projector features Faroudja DCDi video processing.Inputs include DVI, component video with BNC terminals, RGB, composite, and S-video. In addition, the DPX-1000 features an RS-232 serial port for external control, as well as a 12-volt triggering.The DPX-1000 utilizes a Scirocco fan, combined with a twin silencer duct to keep noise at 30 dB. The air flow is also designed to keep heat waves away from the image path to prevent shimmering.
