THIEL Audio will be showing its latest loudspeaker, the CS2.4, along with the recently shipped SW1 subwoofer featuring SmartSubô technology at the 2003 CES in Las Vegas. THIEL will also have a sneak preview of the upcoming ViewPoint loudspeaker, designed for use with flat-panel video displays. The SW1's patent-pending SmartSub technology enables the SW1 system to overcome the problems exhibited by conventional subwoofers--poor integration with the system's main speakers and altered response due to nearby walls--to deliver near-ideal performance with virtually any type of main loudspeaker and with virtually any room placement. The SW1 is the first intelligent subwoofer--simple, seamless, and smart.The woofer unit is a standalone subwoofer for reproducing the "".1"" channel in a home theatre system. It uses two very high-performance, high-output 10-inch drivers powered by a high-efficiency, 1000-watt switching mode amplifier. The amplifier's circuitry includes the aspects of SmartSub technology that correct response problems caused by nearby walls and eliminates compression distortion normally caused by high power to the drivers.The Controller: Perfect Sonic Integration For Seamless SoundThe optional companion SC1 Controller can be used in augment mode to extend the bass range of the main speakers, or in crossover mode to transfer the bass energy from the main speakers into the subwoofer for higher output levels.
