RGB Spectrum Introduces RGB/Videolink 1690 Video Scan Converter In 1U Configuration

The new RGB SpectrumÆ RGB/VideolinkÆ models 1690-1U and 1690D1-1U are now available in a convenient, single-rack unit configuration. In addition, a second RS-232 port is offered as a useful option, when several audio/visual units of similar or different types are to be controlled from a single device. Although it is the lowest-priced scan converter ever offered by RGB Spectrum, the RGB/Videolink 1690 is positioned at the high-end of the market and is ideal for the most sophisticated applications in video scan conversion. It accepts interlaced or non-interlaced RGB inputs from virtually any workstation or desktop computer and synchronizes to signals with screen resolutions up to 1600 x 1280 pixels. The RGB/Videolink 1690 measures the input signal and sets up the parameters for the sharpest picture, correct aspect ratio, and size of the output image. For outputs, the new RGB/Videolink offers NTSC/PAL composite video, S-video, and component analog video. SMPTE 259M digital output is available as an option. State-of-the-art digital signal processing (DSP) circuitry eliminates interlace flicker in the output image. Even thin horizontal lines appear stable. Multiple levels of filtering provide the best choice between image sharpness and flicker elimination. The RGB/Videolink 1690 has a sophisticated front panel for enhanced user control as well as an RS-232 port for remote control. User-definable zoom presets on the front panel are saved in non-volatile memory. Other features include: 2x oversampling, improved vertical filtering to eliminate flicker, a custom VLSI for maximum reliability, and a wide range of user presets.
