Marantz announced the introduction of its new top-of-the-line SR9300 Digital Surround Receiver, a THXÆ Ultra2-certified component that represents the culmination of 50 years of Marantz engineering excellence. In addition, Marantz expands its high-end receiver lineup at CES 2003 with the debut of the SR8300 and SR7300 OSE (Original Special Edition) A/V receivers, and the new SR4320 stereo receiver. The Marantz SR9300 is designed to be nothing less than the ultimate home theatre receiver. Providing all the features and flexibility that best satisfy the requirements of the most sophisticated multi-room home entertainment systems, the versatile SR9300 can accommodate multichannel audio sources such as DVD-Audio and SACD, as well as the highest-resolution progressive scan DVD-Audio and HDTV video sources and display devices. The SR9300 is compatible with every popular 7.1-, 6.1-, and 5.1-channel surround sound format, including THX Surround EXô, DTS-ESÆ, DTS Neo:6Æ, DolbyÆ Pro LogicÆ II, Dolby Digital, and other surround formats. In addition, the SR9300 offers DTS 96/24 decoding, and Circle SurroundÆ II processing, which can decode enhanced 6.1-channel surround audio from stereo sources including Circle Surround II-encoded broadcasts. The receiver also offers a selection of useful 6.1-channel DSP surround modes, including a 6.1-Channel Stereo mode that provides 6.1-channel surround sound from stereo audio sources. The SR9300 utilizes advanced CrystalÆ 192 kHz/24-bit D/A converters on all channels for unmatched fidelity and resolution. For ultimate-quality two-channel audio playback, the SR9300's exclusive ADDC (Adaptive Double Differential Control) circuitry reconfigures its D/A converters to dual-differential stereo audio mode for the highest possible audio quality and lowest noise. A built-in HDCDÆ decoder provides the superior sonic benefits of HDCD playback from CD players and DVD players without HDCD capability. The receiver also features a Video Off mode that switches off the video circuitry for lowest interference during audio-only playback. The receiver delivers an authoritative 140 watts (into 8 ohms) of discrete high-current amplification into all seven of its main channels, enabling it to drive even inefficient audiophile loudspeakers to generous volume levels in large rooms. The SR9300 is engineered to deliver an extraordinary level of sonic realism, incorporating refinements such as current feedback amplification for all channels, a massive power supply with a custom toroidal transformer, extensive internal shielding, and premium internal components for maximum sonic purity. The Marantz SR9300 provides the most comprehensive complement of inputs, outputs, and switching facilities of any Marantz receiver ever created. It offers no less than four wide-bandwidth, HDTV-compatible component video inputs, plus S-video and composite video inputs, multiple digital and analog audio inputs including a front-panel optical digital input, plus a wide variety of audio and video outputs. The SR9300 is designed to function as an all-in-one, whole-house A/V system controller, featuring audio and video multi-room operation with configurable amplifier output and an improved multi-room on-screen display. The receiver can accommodate future performance upgrades such as new surround sound decoding capabilities, via software downloaded from a PC into the receiver's RS-232C port. The RS-232C interface also offers improved functionality for greater control capabilities in integrated audio/video systems. Additional performance and convenience features include a precision Gyro-Touch AM/FM tuner with 50 station presets, 7.1-channel inputs and preamp outputs to accommodate the audio outputs from a universal DVD-Audio/Video & SACD player or other multichannel audio component, DC trigger and TV Auto On/Off inputs, and many additional advanced features. The SR9300 is supplied with the RC3200 programmable touch-screen learning remote control, which operates all functions and can control all the components in a home entertainment system. The Marantz SR9300 Digital Surround Receiver carries a suggested retail price of $3,199 and will be available April 2003. The Marantz 6.1-channel SR8300 Digital Surround Receiver offers most of the same advanced features and technologies as the SR9300, such as premium Crystal 192 kHz/24-bit D/A converters on all channels, wide-bandwidth component video switching with two component video inputs, software upgradeability, multi-room A/V operation with improved RS-232C control capability, and many additional performance and convenience functions. The receiver delivers 120 watts of power into each of its six main channels for clear, powerful multichannel home theatre sound, and includes an extensive array of audio and video connections to accommodate a wide variety of program sources. Adding to its versatility, the SR8300 is supplied with Marantz's RC3200 touch-screen remote. The Marantz SR8300 Digital Surround Receiver carries a suggested retail price of $1,799 and will be available April 2003. The new 6.1-channel SR7300 OSE (Original Special Edition) Digital Surround Receiver builds upon the performance of the standard SR7300 with upgraded Marantz Original Special Edition enhancements for exceptional sound quality, such as audiophile-grade parts specially selected for maximum sonic purity, a copper internal chassis, gold-plated connectors, HDCD decoding, and numerous additional electronic and mechanical refinements. The SR7300 OSE provides 110 watts into each of its six main channels, and retains all the features that make the SR7300 one of the most versatile and flexible receivers available today, including wide-bandwidth component video switching, compatible decoding of all popular 6.1- and 5.1-channel surround sound formats, multi-room audio/video operation, and much more. The Marantz SR7300 OSE also includes an RS-232C port enabling integrated system control and software upgradeability, and is supplied with an ergonomic, programmable learning remote control. The Marantz SR7300 OSE (Original Special Edition) Digital Surround Receiver carries a suggested retail price of $1,299 and will be available January 2003. Marantz stereo receivers have always been prized by audiophiles for their rich, musical sound, and the SR4320 continues the tradition of Marantz excellence, providing outstanding audio quality along with a host of useful features including full remote control operation.
