15-Jan-03

In 2003, Marantz America celebrates its 50th anniversary as a manufacturer of high-performance specialist audio and video components. From its beginnings as one of the founding companies of high-fidelity audio in 1953, Marantz has continued to meet the needs of the home entertainment market with products embodying the very best in performance, and at CES 2003 Marantz builds upon its 50-year heritage of excellence with a number of significant new product introductions. Kevin Zarow, Marantz Director of Marketing noted, ""For 50 years, the words 'Marantz' and 'high fidelity' have been synonymous, from the legendary tube audio separates offered by our founder Saul Marantz in the 50s and 60s, to today's leading-edge VP-12S2 video projector and DV8300 universal DVD-Audio/Video & SACD player."" Zarow continued, ""Marantz recognizes that the concept of high fidelity applies to both audio and video components. The dictionary literally defines 'fidelity' as truthfulness and accuracy-and today as in the past, every Marantz component strives to be as truthful and accurate to the original source as possible, whether reproducing every musical nuance of a multichannel DVD-Audio or SACD recording, or every detail of an HDTV broadcast."" Concluded Zarow, ""Marantz's current position as an industry leader didn't happen by accident. We achieved our status as a premier CE manufacturer by staying on the leading edge of emerging technologies and continually defining the state of the art-and most of all, by adapting to the demands of an ever-changing marketplace and offering our customers the right home entertainment products at the right times.""
