5-Feb-03

New Monaural 300-Watt Amp Delivers Fully Balanced, Zero-Feedback Performance For Two-Channel Music And Home Theatre System Reproduction Theta Digital, long acclaimed as America's most advanced manufacturer of high-end digital audio products, introduced the Enterprise Monaural Power Amplifier at CES 2003. The Enterprise is a fully balanced, zero-feedback, monaural power amplifier designed to satisfy the needs of customers for a system capable of the most revealing two-channel music and multichannel movie soundtrack reproduction. To achieve this, the Enterprise possesses a nominal rating of 300 watts into 8 ohms, and 500 watts into 4 ohms. Harnessing the talents of Theta's leading-edge design team, the Enterprise combines advanced features with a stunning, elegant aesthetic. Relying on powerful imaging capabilities, reduced background noise, superior low-level detail, and improved bass definition, the Enterprise delivers unrivaled reproduction of both two-channel music and movie soundtracks. The Enterprise's electronics are built around a four-layer circuit board, employing dedicated layers for the ground plane and each supply line. This ensures better isolation, quieter performance, and improved dynamic speed and impact. The design also significantly improves the symmetry of the balanced ""+"" and ""-"" signal paths. The Enterprise uses a high-current, 500-watt toroid power transformer that's both extremely fast and quiet. To ensure high reliability, it has been subjected to rigorous testing and an extended burn-in period. The filtering system is fed from ultra-fast/soft-recovery bridge rectifiers, ideal for regulated and high-current power supplies. Two options for output connectors can be used--Cardas Rhodium binding posts or the Theta high-pressure contact Delrin/Rhodium-plated output connectors used on the Citadel. A special tool for tightening the posts is provided. CE-approved versions are supplied to countries within the European Union. Input is accepted on RCA and locking XLR connectors. The Enterprise is provided with remote power switching as a standard feature, with bi-directional RS-232 control available as an option. Additional features include single-ended and balanced inputs, rail fuses accessible on the rear panel, very fast, superb-sounding driver transistors, and a high level of capacitive power supply filtering. The Enterprise's gleaming housing features only a small control tower with basic indicators that appears to float on the vertical front surface. Available in mirrored pairs, the Enterprise delivers an aesthetic statement as powerful as its performance. The Enterprise Monaural Power Amplifier will be available in January 2003 for a suggested retail price of $8,500 per pair. For more information, visit www.thetadigital.com.
