Acoustic Research (AR) Introduces New Subwoofers

25-Feb-03

A total of three new powered subwoofers have been added to the Acoustic Research (AR) speaker lineup, each of which boasts a long-throw poly-cone woofer with oversized rubber surround. A front-firing passive radiator reacts to changes in frequency with smooth response and texture, and the down-firing active woofer disperses that bass throughout the widest possible listening area. The amplifiers is rated at 100 watts RMS, and there is an LFE input/output, Isolation Bucket, fixed EQ, high-level input/output at 40-200 Hz, and auto on/off. Five-way binding posts are included for high-level speaker connections. The 8-inch ARPR-808 (150 Watts RMS amplifier) reaches 18 dB per octave, with a frequency response of 36-250 Hz, sensitivity measured at 87 dB, and nominal impedance of 8 ohms. The 10-inch ARPR-1010 (175 Watts RMS amplifier) reaches 18 dB per octave, with a frequency response of 32-250 Hz, sensitivity measured at 89 dB, and nominal impedance of 8 ohms. The 12-inch ARPR-1212 (250 Watts RMS amplifier) reaches 18 dB per octave, with a frequency response of 30-200 Hz, sensitivity measured at 89 dB, and nominal impedance measured at 8 ohms.
