MartinLogan Announces The New Aeon i Electrostatic Loudspeaker

MartinLogan, the loudspeaker technology company, announced the introduction of the Aeon i ESL (electrostatic loudspeaker). With a footprint of less than one square foot, Aeon i builds upon the foundation of the Aeon loudspeaker by incorporating a number of design innovations. These include a Generation 2 electrostatic panel featuring ClearSpar technology, a NACô (natural ambience compensation) driver, improved low-end performance, and enhanced cabinet and stator finishes. Compared to the Aeon loudspeaker, the only things that remain the same in the new Aeon i are the cabinet shape, wood trim options, power cords, and spikes.The patented CLS (curvilinear line source) MartinLogan ESL has been refined. The Aeon i's new Generation 2 stat panel featuring ClearSparô technology is claimed to provide unparalleled impedance tolerance and maximum adhesion and abrasion resistance. ClearSparô technology is said to enhance Aeon I's transparent look and increases both efficiency and dynamics.NAC (natural ambience compensation) improves off-axis high-frequency dispersion. NAC is parallel to the signal path and features an on/off switch to adjust for listener preference. The Aeon i also features a state-of-the-art aluminum woofer and bass reflex design.The Aeon i includes new, advanced crossover topology, audiophile grade components, and point-to-point wiring.Enhanced cabinet and stator finishes, standard on the Aeon i, include an attractive, tougher new semi-gloss black cabinet finish and new Meteor-colored stators (electrostatic panel elements).
