Active Thermal Management Introduces Finish-To-Match Powered Vents

17-Apr-03

Active Thermal Management has been supplying silent cooling products to the custom installation community since 1999, for cooling both individual components and entire enclosures. A new product, ""Cool-ventô"", addresses a problem frequently encountered when ventilating a home theatre installation housed in a wooden cabinet. When room location and walls rule out side or rear air entry, a frequent solution is to bring air in through the kick panel, the vertical panel just below the front doors. Close to the floor, it's an ideal location for access to the coolest air in the room, but kick panel installations can be difficult to do, and can have that ""Band-Aid"" look. Cool-vent by Active Thermal Management is said to solve both the venting and appearance problems, easily and economically. Cool-vent is a 15-1/2 x 3-1/2-inch precision-crafted wooden grille that fits in a 14 x 2-inch rough opening. Available in 26 species of wood, from American Cherry to Teak, It separates into fan and grille sections. The grille section is given to the cabinet supplier to finish, along with the enclosure, ensuring an aesthetic match. At installation time, the fans are attached to the grille and the complete assembly is slid into the rough opening. The fans can attach in either direction, allowing either an intake or exhaust mode of operation. Cool-vents in oak and other popular woods will ship from stock beginning early March 2003; other species will ship approximately 4 weeks. Cool-vents can also be built from wood supplied by the cabinet vendor, and in other sizes. For more information, visit www.activethermal.com.
