Immersive Announces Virtuoso HT720 Projector

2-Jun-03

Immersive, Inc. announced the arrival of its latest in high-performance and affordable home theatre products, the Virtuoso HT720 High-Definition Projector. The Virtuoso HT720 delivers a rated 2,000:1 contrast ratio and 600 lumens of light output, as measured at a color temperature of 6500K. A fully sealed and optimized light engine has been built around the latest Texas Instruments Mustang/HD2 DLPô technology. The Virtuoso also incorporates Genesis Microchip's (Faroudja) DCDiô processing. ""This is a popular market, and we knew it only made sense to enter it if we had an exceptional product--both in terms of performance and value,"" said Tom Strade, President of Immersive, Inc. ""So we devoted considerable time to the Virtuoso, particularly on the optical path and calibration. We believe we've achieved groundbreaking results for a projector that is so affordable."" The unit weights 11 pounds and is said to offer quiet operation without the need for large or specialized sound-deadening enclosures (""hush boxes""). The projector has been pre-calibrated to a color temperature of 6500K. Software is also provided to allow custom installers and ISF calibrators the means to create custom gamma curves. The Virtuoso HT720 provides a full complement of inputs, including DVI (with HDCP), RGBHV, component, S-video, and composite video. It will begin shipping in June 2003 at a suggested retail price of $8,500. An optional ceiling mount kit is also available. For more information, visit www.immersiveinc.com.
