ViewSonic Introduces VPW450HD Plasma Display

ViewSonicÆ Corp. announced the latest addition to its HDTV-ready Visual Technologiesô plasma product line. The 42-inch VPW450HD offers enhanced performance and high-resolution picture quality in a professional design at an MSRP of $4,999. With a native resolution of 1024 x 1024, the VPW450HD supports all data sources and video signals, including HDTV, enhanced-definition television (EDTV), and standard-definition television. A contrast ratio of up to 1,000:1, brightness level of up to 1,000 cd/m2, and XtremeViewô viewing angles of up to 160 degrees make the display ideal for high-performance television and video. ""As we see more digital content, higher resolutions are required to achieve the best quality,"" said Jennifer Feldman, Senior Product Manager, ViewSonic Corp. ""The VPW450HD allows customers to view brilliant, clear, large-screen pictures while spending a fraction of the price of other large-screen displays."" Advanced features enable end users to simultaneously create, view, and customize picture-in-picture, split-screen, or full-screen windows for data, video, and TV signals. The built-in tuner and progressive scan technology produce high-quality video and NextVisionô technology adds brightness and depth to the picture. Compatible with both PC and Mac computer systems, the VPW450HD features DVI, S-video, component, and composite video connections, while integrated speakers provide virtual surround sound capability. A stand, remote control, and carrying case are included, and the lightweight display can be attached to a wall or a ceiling with an optional mounting kit. Beginning in July 2003, the VPW450HD will be available through authorized ViewSonic resellers and retailers. It is backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor with onsite service.
