Silicon Image Opens HDMI Authorized Testing Center

Silicon Image, (NASDAQ: SIMG) announced the opening of its Authorized Testing Center (ATC) to provide test services for the High-Definition Multimedia Interfaceô (HDMIô). Located at the company's Sunnyvale, California headquarters, the facility is now available for preliminary testing of products submitted by HDMI Adopters. Following completion of the HDMI v 1.0 Compliance Test Specification, the center will provide full testing against the specification.As mandated by the HDMI Adopter's Agreement and HDMI Compliance Test Specification, Silicon Image's ATC tests for compliance with the HDMI specification to promote compatibility among HDMI devices. A product must pass testing at an ATC before it can bear the HDMI logo or claim conformance to the HDMI Specification.John LeMoncheck, Silicon Image's Vice President of Consumer Electronics Products, stated, ""HDMI compliance testing provides a real benefit to manufacturers and consumers alike. The ATC is also capable of performing HDMI cable compliance testing. Typical test durations range from 7 to 14 days, depending on product complexity and type.
