TiVo To Offer Rebate On TiVo Series2 For Upcoming Holiday Season

TiVo (NASDAQ: TIVO) announced that it will offer a $50 rebate through the peak holiday shopping season that will push the entry price point on the TiVoÆ Series2ô to under $200.""With the right pricing, the right product and the right distribution, a TiVo DVR is the gift on everyone's wish list this year,"" said Joe Miller, Vice President, Sales at TiVo. ""The most sought after gift for the holidays is now more affordable than ever.""TiVo is offering a $50 mail-in rebate on its industry leading TiVo Series2 models, which store up to 40 or 80 hours of television programs. With the rebate, the 40-hour TiVo Series2, can be purchased for $199. The 80-hour Series2 is $299 after the rebate.The mail-in rebate is available on TiVo Series2 models purchased between September 12 and December 31, 2003. The rebate does not apply to DirecTV receivers. To qualify for the rebate, customers must purchase a subscription to the TiVo service directly from TiVo Inc. The TiVo service starts at $12.95 per month and a subscription for the lifetime of the product is $299. In addition, customers must activate the service prior to January 31, 2004 to qualify for the rebate.
