V Inc. announced the addition of the Vizio P2, a 42-inch EDTV (enhanced-definition television), to their line of products. The Vizio P2 has a native resolution of 852 x 480 (pixels) and is compatible with PC resolutions up to XGA (1024 x 768) and HDTV formats including 480p, 1080i and 720p. It comes standard with an integrated 181-channel NTSC/PAL TV tuner, tabletop stand, and built-in stereo speakers.V Inc.'s introduction of the Vizio P2 boasts a 3.5-inch-deep widescreen (16:9) plasma display with a 160-degree viewing angle, 800:1 contrast ratio, and the ability to produce 16.77 million colors. The Vizio P2 also features a menu-driven on-screen control system. Home and computer automation is available through a nine-pin RS-232C connection.The Vizio P2 offers a complete complement of inputs, including RGB (VGA-type 15-pin D-sub), standard- or high-definition component video, RGBHV, S-video, composite video, and standard RF. A DVI-D (Digital Visual Interface) with HDCP is also included with the Vizio P2.An advanced digital image processor enhances and controls the various source inputs to the digital display. It features high-performance DCDiô motion-adaptive deinterlacing to produce progressive scan images from standard-definition content and 3:2 pulldown of filmed DVD material. Four adjustable aspect ratios include: 4:3 or 16:9 (Full), 4:3 to 16:9 (Zoom1), and 4:3 to Modified 16:9 (Zoom2). An adjustable size and position PIP (Picture In Picture) feature allows viewers to keep track of two programs at the same time.The Vizio P2 features comes with a one-year standard parts and labor warranty. Optional accessories include wall and ceiling mount units and attachable powered speakers.
