Samsung Shows Full Line Of LCD TVs At CEDIA EXPO 2003

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. displayed its full line of LCD TVs, ranging in screen size from 15 to 40 inches, at the 2003 CEDIA EXPO. ""Our strong position in LCD TV has helped to raise the level of the Samsung brand overall,"" said Jonas Tanenbaum, Senior Marketing Manager for Samsung Electronic Americas Flat Panel Digital Display Products. ""We will continue in a leadership position by offering a full lineup of LCD TVs, from 15 up to 40 inches--the largest LCD available. Our unique value proposition with HDTV and PC compatibility, supported with strong consumer promotions and a broad advertising campaign, has already allowed us to build and capture a significant share of the LCD market. We are expanding on our past success with a wider variety of models in 2003."" Leading the lineup is Samsung's second-generation 40-inch LTN406W, adding picture enhancement through DNIeô (Digital Natural Image engineô). Samsung will introduce early next year the LTN468W, the first 46-inch LCD TV available with an integrated HD tuner. The LTN468W will also employ DNIeô, along with the 32-inch LTN325W and 26-inch LTN265W. The 22-inch LTN226W and 17-inch LTN1785W round out the lineup of Samsung's widescreen LCD TVs. All these models employ DVI with HDCP, are HDTV-compatible, and include a PC/picture-in-picture (PC/PIP) function. In addition to the widescreen models, Samsung will offer four new 4:3 LCD TVs, including the LTN1565 and LTN1765, which can serve as HDTV monitors. These sets also feature PC/PIP.Each of these flat-panel units offers a viewing angle of 170 degrees, multiple inputs, and incorporates enhanced Samsung screens, with brightness and contrast ratio rated, respectively, at 450cd/m2 and 500:1 for LTN1785W, LTN226W, and LTN325W; and 500cd/m2 and 600:1 for the LTN406W. The LTN1535 ($699), LTN1735 ($899), LTN1765 ($999.99), LTN1565 ($799.99), LTN1785W ($1,299), and LTN325W ($4,499) are currently available.
