Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced their five-disc carousel HT-DB660 rear-reflecting home theatre-in-a-box (HTiB).The HT-DB660 emits sounds from the front speakers that are reflected by the walls and ceiling to create a surround sound experience. A center channel and subwoofer are also included with the system. ""The HT-DB660 enhances Samsung's reputation for matching high quality with ease-of-use in the home theatre category,"" said Claude Frank, Director of Samsung Electronics America Digital Video/Audio Group. ""By eliminating the rear speakers the HT-DB660 system is perfect for use in small- to mid-size rooms like the bedroom, office, or a modest home theatre."" In addition to the rear-reflecting technology, the HT-DB660 employs Samsung's Automatic Sound Test & Calibration, which gives users the ability to calibrate their sound system by positioning a microphone in the home theatre ""sweet spot."" The five-disc carousel DVD player includes progressive scan video output, and supports playback from DVD, CD, MP3, and CD-R/CD-RW formats.
