The new Monitor Audio Radius 90 (just 7.5 inches in height) has been primarily designed as a satellite for use in a multichannel audio or video system. Combined with the Radius 360, the Radius 90 forms a full-range system. The Radius 90 has a considerable operating frequency range and can be used on its own as a secondary system. The supplied die-cast metal wall bracket supplied has a shallow profile and holds the Radius 90 close to the wall with an unobtrusive appearance. Full pivoting of the bracket allows the speaker to be directed toward the listening area. Supplied with both black and silver interchangeable grilles, the Radius 90 can be customized to suit a particular decor or individual taste requirements. The Radius 90 has a -3 dB response down to 75 Hz. The Beech and Rosemah real-wood veneers and Gloss Black and Video Silver lacquer finishes are crafted to the same standards as Monitor Audio's reference speaker systems. Its suggested retail price is $199 each. The new Radius 180 can be used as a center channel as part of a multichannel audio/video system, or as a main speaker. The Radius 180 can be used vertically or horizontally, and due to the shallow depth (3.75 inches), it can be used with plasma TVs or in places where space is at a premium. The Radius 180 can be used on its own as a main speaker system and has enhanced bass performance over the Radius 90, mainly due to the larger ported cabinet design. Combined with the Radius 360, the 180 forms part of a full-range and versatile audio/video-based system. The die-cast metal wall bracket supplied has a shallow profile and holds the Radius 180 close to the wall. Full pivoting of the bracket allows the speaker to be directed toward the listening area. Supplied with both black and silver interchangeable grilles, the Radius 180 comes in real-wood Beech and Rosemah veneers and Gloss black and Video Silver lacquer finishes with a suggested retail price of $229 each. Speaker-level connections are provided, and have a built-in passive high-pass filter. RCA stereo inputs and LFE input are also provided. The auto on-off function allows the Radius 360 to be automatically switched on when an input signal is received, and then switched off after a time period when no input signal is detected. An additional Movies-Music switch allows the listener to select the 360 for primary use, and this feature can also be used to help room positioning where more (or less) bass impact may be desirable.
