JVC Announces Fall Availability Of Revamped 42-Inch Consumer HD Plasma TV

JVC announced that this fall it will deliver a redesigned 42-inch high-definition plasma television for the consumer market. The new flat-panel display, the PD-42WX84, features a sleek new look and incorporates JVC's new Digital Image Scaling Technology (D.I.S.T.) that upconverts input video to 770p. ""The availability of JVC's first consumer market plasma TV coincides with the introduction of our first LCD model, and both share a fresh, new family look,"" said Dan McCarron, National Product Specialist for JVC Company of America's Color Television Division. ""With these introductions, JVC establishes itself as a marketer of display devices on the cutting edge of both design and performance."" The new I'Art PRO JVC PD42-WX84 includes the company's edge correction circuitry, HD DSD (Digital Super Detail), Four Point Color Management, TheaterPro 6500K color temperature, Digital Noise Clear Circuitry, an interactive plug-in menu, XDS ID Display, and Natural Cinema 3:2 pulldown with on/off capability. It also features an NTSC tuner with split-screen and index. The set boasts a contrast ratio of 3,000:1 A DVI 1.0 input with HDCP is included as well as dual auto-sensing component video inputs, three S-video (two rear, one front) inputs, and four A/V inputs (three rear, one front). This unit also includes JVC's ""Natural Progressive"" picture improvement technologies to optimize signal quality before the picture is displayed on the screen. JVC's 10.95-million-pixel Natural Progressive technology doubles the image data in each field and uses advanced 3-D interpolation. The new plasma TV's audio section features BBEÆ sound enhancement along with a new version of JVC's Advanced Hyper Surround and 20 watts of power to drive its built-in speaker system with integrated subwoofer. JVC also has included its AV CompuLink III for connectivity with other JVC audio and video products.
