JVC announced its entry into the consumer LCD TV market with its first flat-panel liquid crystal display, the 26-inch LT-26WX84, that incorporates the company's Digital Image Scaling Technology (D.I.S.T.) to upconvert image resolution to 770p. ""We are very excited to announce that we have an LCD flat-panel offering to add to our already growing digital display category,"" said Dan McCarron, National Product Specialist for JVC Company of America's Color Television Division. ""This new display complements our new consumer plasma devices and gives JVC a family of flat-panel displays that rounds out our comprehensive high-definition product line and meets the full range of consumer needs and tastes."" The new JVC LT-26WX84 JVC includes the company's edge correction circuitry, HD DSD (Digital Super Detail), Four Point Color Management, TheaterPro 6500K color temperature, Digital Noise Clear Circuitry, an interactive plug-in menu, XDS ID Display, and Natural Cinema 3:2 pulldown with on/off capability. Other features include an NTSC tuner with split-screen and index. The display includes DVI input with HDCP, an auto-sensing component video input, two S-video inputs, and three A/V inputs. This unit also includes JVC's ""Natural Progressive"" picture improvement technologies to optimize signal quality. JVC's 10.95-million-pixel Natural Progressive technology doubles the image data in each field and uses advanced 3-D interpolation. The JVC LT-26WX84 has a rated contrast ratio of 500:1 and a brightness of 500 cd/m2. The new LCD TV's audio section features BBEÆ sound enhancement along with a new version of JVC's Advanced Hyper Surround and 20 watts of power driving the set's built-in speaker system.
