JVC Introduces New RX-DP20VBK THX Ultra2 Receiver

JVC has introduced the RX-DP20VBK, the company's flagship home theatre receiver which is THX Ultra2-certified.JVC partnered with Texas Instruments (TI) to be the first in the industry to incorporate TI's Aureusô Audio DSP, the company's newest 32/64-bit floating-point digital signal processor (DSP) technology. At the core of the technology is a 225 MHz DSP optimized for home theatre products and capable of 1,800 million instructions per second (MIPS). With the performance and flexibility of this device, the JVC RX-DP20VBK is capable of a range of decoding tasks, such as DTSÆ 96/24, and offers additional audio processing algorithms. ""The combination of TI's DA610 DSP and JVC's audio systems expertise will enable the next level of immersive and realistic listening experiences."" The RX-DP20VBK offers 7.1-channel processing and output. The receiver features three high-bandwidth component video inputs and seven digital audio inputs (four optical, three coaxial). The RX-DP20VBK includes THX Ultra2 post-processing, seven independent 120-watt amplifiers, and an independent direct power supply with separate analog and digital transformers.
