30-Dec-03

At CES 2004, Fujitsu General America will demonstrate five new Plasmavision SlimScreenÆ monitors, including the companyís largest 63-inch monitor and the industryís first 55-inch model featuring Extended Alternate Lighting of Surfaces (e-ALiS)Æ technology. The companyís new product line includes the high-definition 63-inch P63XHA30WS, the industryís first 55-inch model, the P55XHA30WS, plus three upgraded plasma display monitors. These three monitors are the 50-inch P50XHA30WS, 42-inch P42HHA30WS, and 42-inch P42VHA30WS. All five new Plasmavision monitors feature Fujitsu's Advanced Video Movement (AVM) processor, which virtually eliminates motion artifacts and flicker, improves vertical resolution, and reproduces natural movement with ease. All five Fujitsu Plasmavision displays feature DVI-D inputs with HDCP for optimum reception of all DTV broadcasts. All monitors are designed for custom installation versatility, offering wall-, ceiling-, or stand-mounting placement options as well as a wide array of video and audio connections that include RS-232 control ports for integrated system operation. High-quality stereo amplifiers with external speaker outputs and volume, treble, bass and balance controls in all displays facilitate their use in multimedia applications, or as a complete video plus systems, using optional matching speakers. All Plasmavision monitors are supplied with an ergonomic remote control that gives installers and users access to a menu system with comprehensive control of the monitorís functions and picture adjustments. In addition, controls on the monitor itself are located on the right front edge for easy access. The P63XHA30WS: Fujitsuís Largest-Ever Plasma Display Monitor Fujitsuís largest-ever plasma display, the high-definition P63XHA30WS, incorporates a high-definition panel that is compatible with all digital and analog formats including 1080i and 720p HDTV, as well as 480i and 480p SDTV signals. In addition to its DVI-D digital input, this 1366 x 768 panel features a full suite of audio and video connections. Fujitsu employs 10-bit signal processing for each of the panelís R, G, and B input signals, resulting in a 1.07 billion color display resolution. The result is a dramatic improvement compared to previously attainable resolution, providing significantly more lifelike color accuracy, with much finer subtleties and gradations between colors. The P63XHA30WS Plasmavision SlimScreen monitor will be available this month for a suggested retail price of $24,999. The P55XHA30WS: The Industryís First 55-Inch Monitor That Includes The Worldís First With e-ALiS Technology Fujitsuís first 55-inch plasma monitor, the P55XHA30WS, is the industryís first 55-inch plasma display and also the worldís first plasma display to feature e-ALiS technology. This extension of the companyís ALiS technology was developed by Fujitsu for plasma monitors larger than 50 inches. It utilizes progressive scan technology and yields sharp big-screen image quality with superlative color accuracy and ultra-high brightness. The 1.78:1 P55XHA30WS incorporates a high-definition 1366 x 768 pixel panel array that can display the output from virtually any home theatre video source. The P55XHA30WS Plasmavision SlimScreen monitor will be available December 2003 for a suggested retail price of $14,999. P50XHA30WS: High-Definition Plasma Performance Building on the strengths of previous 50-inch Plasmavision models, Fujitsu's high-definition, 1.78:1 P50XHA30WS incorporates a high-resolution 1366 x 768 pixel panel array that can display the output from virtually any home theatre video source, including true 1080i and 720p HDTV, and 480i and 480p SDTV signals. The 50XHA30WS Plasmavision SlimScreen monitor will be available December 2003 for a suggested retail price of $10,999. P42HHA30WS: Leading-Edge Technologies In A Stylish Package The P42HHA30WS Plasmavision SlimScreen features a 1.78:1 format ratio with a 1,024 x 1,024 pixel panel array and is designed for high-resolution image quality in every respect. To ensure exceptional image quality, the P42HHA30WS utilizes Fujitsuís Alternate Lighting of Surfaces (ALiS) technology, which discharges the electrodes in the plasma panel in a more efficient manner than conventional plasma monitors. This process achieves significantly higher brightness and definition, yielding extraordinary clarity, sharpness, and color accuracy. The P42HHA30WS Plasmavision SlimScreen monitor is currently available for a suggested retail price of $6,999. The P42VHA30WS: Superior Image Quality, Versatility, And Overall Value Representing an unbeatable combination of plasma monitor performance and value, the new 42-inch 1.78:1 P42VHA30WS incorporates a host of innovative Fujitsu technologies for improved picture quality and increased brightness, including an advanced-technology 852 x 480 pixel panel. The P42VHA30WS Plasmavision SlimScreen monitor will be available December 2003 for a suggested retail price of $4,999. Exclusive Advanced Video Movement (AVM) Processor For Superlative Image Quality Key to the enhanced image quality of all Fujitsu Plasmavision SlimScreen monitors is the inclusion of the companyís proprietary Advanced Video Movement (AVM) processor. The AVM processor eliminates motion artifacts and flicker, improves vertical resolution, and reproduces natural movement with ease. In addition, the processorís built-in line doubler converts NTSC signals and uses different types of processing for moving and still pictures, yielding smoother images with more natural movement and without visible scan lines. With the AVM processor, DVD and HDTV signals are also optimized for plasma displays. The result is image quality that is noticeably superior to competitive models.
