Hitachi's new 55-inch 1.78:1 HDTV Plasma Monitor, the 55HDM71, features 20 percent more picture area than 50-inch models and offers a number of technical upgrades in terms of color reproduction, energy efficiency, and product longevity. The 55HDM71 expands Hitachi's professional plasma monitor line, which currently features 42- and 50-inch models and is designed for both high definition home theater usage and cutting-edge business and presentation environments.Hitachi's first multi-format DVD recorder with an internal 120 GB HDD offers the option of recording on rewriteable DVD-RAM discs, rewriteable DVD-RW discs, or write once DVD-R discs that are compatible with existing DVD players.
