Silverline And Artemis Classics Sign Deal To Release 39 DVD-Audio Recordings

15-Jan-04

Silverline Records has entered into a long-term licensing deal with Artemis Classics to release 39 DVD-Audio recordings. Under the terms of the agreement, Silverline Records has obtained exclusive license rights for all six-channel formats for 39 master recordings originally released under the Vanguard Classics and Omega record labels founded by Maynard and Seymour Solomon. Much of the repertoire features seminal recordings by the Utah Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maurice Abravanel from the mid 1960s through the late 1970s. Other recordings include performances by the Baltimore Symphony, among others. These DVD-Audio discs will be carefully remixed from the original source recordings at 5.1 Production Studios in West Los Angeles. Extraordinary care will be employed in the transferring process of the analog masters to the digital world. In addition to the superior audio quality preserved on these DVD-Audio releases, they will include unprecedented bonus features like original conductorsí notes, label and artist correspondence, as well as interviews with featured performers. These recordings will be released during the first quarter of 2004. The collection will mark the debut of the Silverline Classics label, which is an imprint of Silverline Records.
