Vidikron Adds New 42-Inch High-Definition Model To Its Line Of Plasma Display Monitors

Vidikron has introduced a new 42-inch high resolution 1.78:1 Plasma display monitor, showcased at the 2004 CES. The new VP-42HD boasts a native resolution of 1024 x 768, providing a high-resolution alternative to the enhanced resolution VP-42. The VP-42HD and the recently introduced VP-42, VP-50, and VP-60 combine styling and design with full HDTV capability (with outboard tuner/decoder, D-VHS, or satellite receiver). The VP42-HD, like all models in the PlasmaView line, brings excellent brightness, contrast and black level performance with outstanding video processing. ìThe PlasmaView line of widescreen monitors has been expanded to further meet the needs of our dealers. In the process of building the Vidikron brand, itís our goal to foster and respond to feedback from the field. The new VP-42HD and all Vidikron monitors, share Vidikronís unique Dynamic Pixel Protection circuitry, which helps to protect the plasma panel from stationary image burn, which is a persistent industry-wide problem found in previous plasma monitors and televisions. Vidikronís video processing with 3:2 film detection circuitry is built into all Vidikron monitors. It provides exceptional detail and artifact-free video enhancement, enabling the new VP-42HD and all Vidikron monitors to reproduce even standard NTSC material at near HD quality. All models feature multiple aspect ratio control including Vidikronís IntelliWide mode, offering the ability to view standard video formats in widescreen without loss of image quality. The VP-42HD and all models in the PlasmaView Series feature discrete IR and RS-232 controls to simplify custom installation applications, while discrete source and aspect ratio selection provide a seamless interface for automation control systems. Mounting options include a tabletop stand or wall mounting kit. MSRP for the VP-42HD is $9,995. Availability for the VP-42HD is scheduled for February 2004.
