NHT introduces two new outdoor speakers that offer wider dispersion and higher output, but with the same bass response that first made the OutdoorOne a favorite among installers and homeowners who covet high-end audio when listening outdoors. The moisture-resistant RS1 (MSRP of $250 each) and RS2 (MSRP of $400 each) cater to music lovers who want to enjoy the best possible sonics on a deck, by the pool, or in the backyard. Both enclosures feature a compact, aluminum-extruded cabinet that can be mounted on any flat surface with 180-degree rotation, and both models are designed to provide maximum placement flexibility and overall ease of installation (Mounting brackets are included). In particular, the RS2 breaks outdoor speaker convention with a single enclosure, two-channel design incorporating two 5.25-inch woofers and a newly developed 4-tweeter array.ìWhen it comes to outdoor applications, full range response is more important than imaging and soundstage due to placement restrictions or simply lifestyle choices,î said Chris Byrne, General Manager of NHT. ìThe RS2 was designed to provide a simple solution when the goal is ëjustí exceptional sound, especially when true stereo reproduction is not as essential as overall performance. Itís a single-box solution that makes it easy to cover a broad area from a single point, and it is particularly suited to applications where a single program needs to reach listeners in multiple locations.îNHTís RS2 measures 20 x 7.7 x 5.6 (in inches--H/W/D). Frequency response is 60 Hz to 20 kHz, and sensitivity is rated at 86 dB, 1 Watt at 1 meter. Maximum power handling is 120 watts per channel. In situations where traditional stereo reproduction is desired, the new RS1 offers a level of performance traditionally associated with high-end indoor speakers. The driver array includes a 5.25-inch coax and 5.25-inch woofer, and the woofers of both drivers operate in tandem below 300 Hz, providing solid bass response, while the coax functions in the mid and high frequencies. Measuring 13.5 x 7.7 x 5.6 (in inches-H/W/D), the RS1ís frequency response is 60 Hz to 20 kHz, and sensitivity is rated at 88dB, 1 Watt at 1 meter. Maximum power handling is 125 watts per channel. The RS1 is shipped with all mounting hardware. Both the RS1 and RS2 will be available in April 2004.For more information, please visit www.nhthifi.com.
