Looking to upscale its product lines for 2004, Daewoo said it will ship this year expanded lines of flat-panel plasma and LCD TVs, CRT, and LCD-based rear-projection TVs.New plasma-display HDTV monitors include the HDTV-level 60W-inch DP-60GM ($9,999 suggested retail) and 50W-inch DP50GM ($7,499) and the EDTV-level 42W-inch DP-42SM ($3,499).The 50W- and 60W-inch models will ship in the third quarter and will offer native 720p resolution, 1,000cd/ m2 peak luminance and a 160-degree viewing angle.The 42W-inch model, available now, has native 480p resolutions, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 1,000cd/m2 peak luminance and a 160 degree viewing angle. All models incorporate the company's Dynamic Pixel Management system with added image burn-in protection.In LCD TV the company announced plans to ship six models this year in the 15- ($699, second quarter), 17W- ($1,299, second quarter), 20- ($1,399, second quarter), 26- ($1,999, third quarter), 32- ($3,999, third quarter) and 40W-inch ($4,999, third quarter) screen sizes.All are listed with 800:1 contrast ratios and native 720p resolution.In rear-projection HDTV monitors, the company said it will offer four models, two based on CRT and two based on LCD image sources.The CRT models include the 47W-inch DSJ-4701CRA ($1,299, first quarter) and the 55W-inch DSJ-5510CRA ($1,599, first quarter). Both include motion-adaptive 3D digital comb filters, Dolby Surround with five-band equalizer control and a dual NTSC tuner picture-in-picture function. Contrast is rated at 400:1 and peak luminance is said to be 600 cd/m2.LCD-based rear-projection HDTV monitors include the 50W-inch DSJ-5020LN ($3,999, third quarter) and the 60W-inch DSJ-6000LN ($4,499, now).
