DTS's (Digital Theater Systems, Inc.) entertainment label, DTS Entertainment, has once again received an award for Best DVD-Audio of the Year for Queen's ėThe Game,î this time at the 2004 Canadian Entertainment Network Awards (CENA.) Sponsored by the Canadian Entertainment Network, a bi-weekly trade magazine that focuses on the Canadian DVD, video game and home entertainment industries, this inaugural award ceremony was staged on February 6th in Toronto. Since inception, DTS Entertainment has garnered numerous industry awards for excellence. This past year, Queen's ėThe Gameî was voted Best DVD-Audio Release of the Year (CENA), Best DVD-Audio Disc (DVD Awards), Best Mix: Non-Orchestral (Surround Music Awards), and was honored at the DVD Excellence Awards (DVD Association). DTSE's release of Insane Clown Posse's ėThe Wraith: Shangri-Laî was also recognized for Most Adventurous Mix (Surround Music Awards). ėDTS Entertainment has long supported a belief that music recordings are considerably more desirable and collectable when marketed in a DVD format that can deliver great surround sound, plus exclusive video extras,î said David DelGrosso, DTS Vice President of Marketing. ėWe are proud to be consistently recognized for the outstanding quality of our DVD-Audio productions.î Held in December 2003 in Beverly Hills, Calif., the Surround Music Awards were presented by United Entertainment (UE) Media and selected by a panel of industry professionals from submissions by record companies, studios and recording artists. The DVD Awards were co-sponsored by the International Recording Media Association (IRMA) and UE Media, and were held in August 2003 in Universal City, Calif. The Best DVD-Audio Disc honor is the only award at the show given to a DVD outside of the DVD-Video category. In 2002, DTS Entertainment won seven awards for its releases that year: Queen's ėA Night At The Operaî received Best DVD Audio Disc at both the DVD Awards and the Gold Ring Awards; ėA Night At The Operaî also won Most Adventurous Mix and Listener's Choice Award at the 2002 Surround Music Awards, and was honored at the DVD Excellence Awards. Additionally, Graham Nash's ėSongs For Survivorsî garnered a DVD Excellence Award, and Graham was selected as Surround Artist of the Year at the Surround Music Awards.
