At the coming Frankfurt ProLight&Sound Show, Alcons will celebrate its first anniversary. At last yearsí Frankfurt show, Alcons had its official ìcoming outî and a lot has happened with Alcons since then. Where last yearís show featured the basic Alcons line-up, this year a stream of new products will be presented. For the first time at the ProLight&Sound, the ìmuch-rumored-aboutî LR16 will be on show. In order to give an idea of what Alconsí pro-ribbon technology means in terms of output and quality, off-site demonstrations of The Ribbon line-array system will be organized.In addition to the Ribbon system, the LR16Bass will be introduced; Double 15-inch NeoDymium drivers in compact bandpass configuration, for a very high-efficiency and low weight (102dB 1W/1m. at 43kg.). The system is to be used as bass extension of LR16, when additional pressure-bass is required. The LR16Bass can be flown or stacked.Unique novelty is the introduction of the LR14; Alconsí ultra-compact line-array module, featuring the patented RBN401 pro-ribbon driver and double 6.5-inch cone-transducers. Designed as either ultra-compact line-array system, or as under-fill of the LR16, the LR14 has a dispersion pattern of 120 x 15 degrees. The 800W peak power handling offers similar dynamic response as its ìbigger brotherî LR16.The ALC4 Amplified Loudspeaker Controller is a 2x 2kW Class-G controller-amplifier. With features like Speaker-Drive-Processing (SDP) and Signal-Integrity-Sensing (SIS) the ALC4 is dedicated to powering and controlling Alcons speaker systems. When taking out the SDP modules of the front-accessible slots, the ALC performs like a high quality ìstandardî 2-channel stereo amplifier, to be used with any loudspeaker system. For very high-fidelity sound reinforcement, the BF181 is introduced; In combination with a VR8 or VR12, this single 18-inch ìdeep-tunedî front-loaded subwoofer offers the ideal HiFi solution in reinforcement of classical, jazz or acoustical music. With a flat response from 25Hz up to 20.000Hz. such a system performs well beyond the HiFi-standard.
