Hitachi Announces Two 42-inch EDTV Monitors At NSCA Expo 2004

Designed For Extended Life In Commercial Applications

The Home Electronics Division of Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. announced the release of the CMP420V1 and CMP420V2, the newest 42-inch product additions to the company's line of professional plasma displays. The CMP420V1 and CMP420V2 are 1.78:1 EDTV enhanced-definition monitors and are specifically designed to meet the display needs of professional and commercial markets. The CMP420V1 and CMP420V2 further expand Hitachi's professional plasma display line, which currently features 42-, 50- and 55-inch HDTV models. ìHitachi is leveraging its technology expertise and experience to offer a full range of plasma displays for the professional and commercial marketplaces,î said Bill Whalen, Senior Product Manager for the Hitachi America, Ltd., Home Electronics Division. ìThe CMP420V series possess a high-contrast, high-brightness plasma panel to deliver exceptional performance, even in well-lit spaces.î The new products utilize Hitachi's exclusive VirtualHD 1080p processor to deliver outstanding picture performance from both computer as well as video based sources. The panels are compatible with portrait and landscape applications and feature Hitachi's unique Life Extension modes and user programmable screen savers. By utilizing either of the Life Extension modes the brightness performance of the displays can be significantly improved over time. The CMP420V series feature 853 x 420 display resolution (WVGA) to produce detailed imagery and with a depth of less than 3 i-inch, they require minimal installation area. The new Hitachi plasma products provide a broad range of connectivity options to assure compatibility with digital and traditional video sources, including a DVI input, multiple component video inputs, multiple RGB analog inputs and S-video/composite inputs. The RS-232C interface also provides access to the operating system for connection to, and control by, third party control systems. Additional features of the CMP420V series include three on-screen display languages (English, French, Spanish), and discrete ID codes so that a single remote can control multiple panels. The CMP420V1 is available with a black frame and the CMP420V2 offers a silver frame. The MSRP is $3,499.95. Optional accessories include speakers, table stand and wall-mount bracket.
