Crystal Viewís New Sound-Art Plasma Display Loudspeaker Solution Features Snell Acoustics Technology

19-Mar-04

Crystal View has introduced Sound-Art, a custom bezel that transforms its CVP-43 and CVP-50 plasma displays into complete audio-video solutions designed to satisfy home theater enthusiasts and interior designers alike. Serving as an attractive extended bezel, Sound-Art integrates a high-end loudspeaker system that provides the custom installer with a unique audio-video plasma display package never before available from one manufacturer. The Crystal View CVP-43 HD and CVP-50HD plasma displays are both available with the Sound-Art solution for a suggested retail price of $12,995 and $16,995 respectively. A clear-coated, black gloss finish is standard, however a wide range of custom colors and finishes, including a selection of real wood veneers is also available. Sound-Art is the result of collaboration between Crystal View and Snell Acoustics and features a no-compromise, two-way loudspeaker design. Each side of Sound-Art integrates two 5.25-inch woofers and a one-inch aluminum dome tweeter, arranged in a DíAppolito Array, named for Snellís chief engineer. The result is full range performance from 70 Hz to 20kHz at levels up to 103 dB, using amplifiers from 25 to 150 watts. Sound-Artís frame matches the 3- 7/8ths depth of the Crystal View plasma display panels. The frame is machined from a solid block of furniture grade, MDF wood. The speaker enclosures use Snellís Quiet Box technology, in which inner and outer cabinet layers sandwich a damping layer of Noise Killer, for a high level of structural integrity and smooth bass response, even at loud volumes. ìSound-Art better enables us to sell a client on transforming a small room into a home theater, especially if the homeowner or interior designer doesnít want speaker components on the front wall,î says John Brusa of ImageTech Home Theater Systems in Framingham, Mass. ìCrystal View has always strived to provide the finest home theater video products,î says Crystal View Sales and Marketing Vice President David Wolff. ìSound-Art represents the best possible audio solution to perfectly complement our plasma products and is guaranteed to please both the interior design-conscious homeowner and home theater enthusiast alike. Now, everybody wins.î Snell Acoustics Sales and Marketing VP Bob Graffy added, ìWe have been looking into plasma speaker solutions for a while, and have found the thin, architectural approach to be lacking. This is the first product that offers impactful, theater-like performance. What a beautiful way to make real speakers disappear!î Additionally, in the first quarter of 2004, Crystal View will offer an enhanced version of Sound-Art that integrates a center channel speaker into the stereo loudspeaker bezel. Product specifications and pricing will be made available at that time. For additional information about Crystal View, please visit www.crystalviewinc.com.
