Gefen HDTV Distribution Amplifiers Split And Distribute High-Definition Video To Multiple Displays

20-Apr-04

Gefen, a provider of HDTV support solutions, demonstrates three new HD splitting and distribution solutions at NAB. Typically high definition displays and video sources utilize DVI (digital visual interface) or HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) to link to each other via high bandwidth cables. Gefen's distribution amplifiers on display at NAB employ both DVI and HDMI to connect and distribute high definition video signals from source to displays. 1:2 HDTV Splitter Gefen's HDTV Splitter distributes two high definition signals to two displays using one source signal. Both HDCP (high definition content protection) signals display resolutions up to 1080I, operating with full high definition capacity. 1:4 HDTV Distribution Amplifier An HDTV signal is split four ways when Gefenís 1:4 HDTV DA sends functional, HDCP compliant high definition video signals to four displays. Each signal supports resolutions up to 1080I. The unit comes with DVI connection cables for linking the source to the HDTV DA. 2:8 HDTV Distribution Amplifier One high definition video signal is distributed to eight displays with the 2:8 HDTV DA, a slim metallic unit equipped with two DVI inputs. This DA intuitively switches to the second source when the first stops, as in the case of a movie ending. When selected, each source distributes HD video to eight displays. When used with one of Gefen's HDTV extension solutions, each display can be extended hundreds of feet while maintaining the clarity and sharpness of high definition video.
