SANYO Fisher Companyís Presentation Technologies Division, whose parent company is one of the worldís largest designers and manufacturers of LCD projector, today added yet another LCD projector to its growing family of wide 1.78:1 aspect ratio LCD projectors. SANYO is introducing the PLV-WF10 with the brightest ANSI Lumen output (4000) in the wide XGA LCD projector class. ìOur wide 1.78:1 projector family now has four members with a wide range of technologies and features,î said Mark Holt, vice president of sales and marketing for SANYO Fisher Companyís Presentation Technologies Division. ìAt all levels, our wide 1.78:1 LCD projectors have many professional capabilities for which the SANYO pro AV projectors are known.î SANYOís 1.78:1 wide aspect ratio line works its way up from the wide PLV-Z1 (964 x 544) LCD projector, which is a small light and bright unit for home entertainment. It has a variety of input options for sources including computer, component video, composite video, S-video, and PC high definition up to 1080i. This means not only showing DVD movies but video games, Internet and home digital video/still pictures. The Z1 includes 0.25-inch (or ?) HD resolution panels for better scaling and improved image quality compared to many other home units on the market. This product has 700 ANSI Lumens and a contrast ratio of 800:1, but the real story is in the video processing. SANYO provides high quality videos processing circuits with auto flesh tone controls and gray scale control for life-like colors, natural skin tones and improved color shading. For those who want more at an affordable price, thereís the extremely popular 800 ANSI Lumen PLV-Z2. The big story here is that it generates high definition viewing (1280 x 720) through its HD-proportional panels. Also it can add a progressive scan and 3-2 pulldown for fantastic DVD movie playback. The Z2 has an exclusive dimmer and lens diaphragm for automatic control of the on-screen brightness and controls which means darker black elements and brighter white areas (1300:1 contrast ratio). The Z2 has vertical and horizontal lens shift, allowing flexibility of use with no on-screen distortions. This little machine takes a giant step toward real projector sophistication with 3X RCA component inputs plus S-Video (mini-DIN 4-pin) and 28 pin DVI-D input thatís compatible for viewing HDCP encrypted source material. The 2200 ANSI Lumen PLV-70 was one of SANYOís early wide 1.78:1 LCD projectors to be offered. Itís for the highly discriminating home entertainment enthusiast as well as for professional application. With this HDTV compatible XGA projector, the resolution is 1366 X 768 with a contrast ratio of 900:1. The PLV-70 steps up by offering a color management system and network connectivity with the optional PJ-Net Organizer module for operating and administering a series of projectors. The PLV-70 has the usual complement of features and options (including optional lenses) plus a motor driven zoom, focus and vertical lens shift (also X-Y digital keystone correction for horizontal and vertical image correction). Now, SANYO takes it up another notch with the wide 1.78:1 PLV-WF10 (1366 X 768) for large venues. At the head of the wide family, the WF10 (900:1 contrast ratio) uses the same high performance LCD as the PLV-70 but ìsuper chargesî light through-put by using two separate 250 watt lamps which generate 4000 ANSI Lumens. The PLV-WF10 has a customized pipelined processor IC and a lot of high-speed video and image processing for highly improved playback of moving images. Of course the WF10 has Real Color Manager, a system that allows precise gamma adjustments through a PC to a 9-pin serial interface and network control/administration with an optional network board. The projector accepts a wide range of optional lenses quick change (easy mount) lens replacement system and add-on optional accessory boards. The MRSPs for the SANYO wide 1.78:1 family are: PLV-Z1, $2,495, PLV-Z2, $2,995, PLV-70, $7,995 and the PLV-WF10, $12,995. The PLV-WF10 and the other 1.78:1ís are available now, each through SANYOís national network of professional audiovisual dealers. All projectors are backed by a three-year parts and labor warranty and a 90-day original lamp warranty. For more information, please visit www.sanyo.com.
