Toshiba's Flat Panel series includes TV models to fulfill a broad range of needs and tastes for virtually any room in the home. Incorporating ten new models across the Cinema Series and TheaterWide product lines, Toshiba now offers one of the most comprehensive selections of Flat Panel displays available today. Showing its commitment to the category, Toshiba announced the start of North American Final Assembly for 1.78:1 Flat Panel TV, starting with the 26-, 32-, and 42-inch models. Toshiba will introduce a new Plasma model, the 42HPX84 (42-inch) HD Monitor, which will feature 720p (1024x768) True HD panel resolution. Toshiba will also introduce the 32HLX84 (32-inch), a new 1.78:1 HD Monitor LCD TV featuring 720P (1366x768) True HD panel resolution and a contrast ratio of 800:1. Cosmetically, the Plasma model utilizes a new double baffle design, while the LCD model utilizes a new space saving bottom speaker design. Understanding the importance of an upscale family design, both sets feature a glossy black finish with silver banding. Other features include SRS WOW and Virtual Dolby for unparalleled sound quality, as well as Digital 3DYC Comb Filter, Cinema Mode (2-3 Pull Down), Color Temperature Control, HD Dynamic Contrast, and Movie and Sports modes.TheaterWide Flat PanelsToshiba announced the introduction of the 50HP84 (50-inch) - a new TheaterWide Plasma model that will compliment the highly successful 42HP84 (42-inch), which also features a panel resolution of 720p (1024 x 768) True HD. Toshiba's TheaterWide LCD line, which includes the 26HL84 (25.5-inch) and 32HL84 (31.5-inch) HD Monitor LCD TVs, will be expanded with the addition of two new 23-inch sets -- the 23HL84 HD Monitor LCD TV and the 23HLV84 HD Monitor LCD TV/DVD combination unit. Both sets offer a panel resolution of 720P (1280 x 768) True HD and a contrast ratio of 500:1. The 23HLV84 incorporates a built-in slot loading, progressive scan DVD player to enhance the product's versatility. In addition to DVD-Video, CD and Video CD playback, the player is also DVD-R/CD-R/CD-RW compatible. Both 23-inch models also feature a 15-Pin D-Sub (VGA) Input for use with a PC. Additional features found in TheaterWide 1.78:1 HD Monitor Flat Panel displays include DVI or HDMI inputs, Digital 3DYC Comb Filter, CableClear DNR+, Color Temperature Control, HD Dynamic Contrast, and Movie and Sports modes. Toshiba's TheaterWide Flat Panel line also includes two standard (1.33:1) models -- the 14DL74 (14-inch) and the 20DL74 (20-inch).
