SpeakerCraft Introduces Its New Fully Pivoting In-Ceiling Speaker For Home Theater

SpeakerCraft recently released a new line of fully pivoting in-ceiling speakers specifically designed for home theater applications. These speakers provide aimable acoustic accuracy to critical listening areas. Retail prices will range from $400 to $1,500 per pair. Building on the popular AIM Series of fully pivoting in-ceiling speakers, the new series brings in-ceiling speaker technology to yet another level. All models feature 8-inch woofers and 1-inch tweeters that can be pivoted toward the listening area. SpeakerCraft Vice President Jeremy Burkhardt commented, ìwhen we introduced the original series of AIM speakers three years ago it was the first of its kind, we showed the industry that high performance home theater from an in-ceiling speaker could be incredible, this new series establishes another level of performance for in-ceiling home theater.î All speakers in the new series fit into the same cutout as the original, however instead of 6-inch woofers, all models feature 8-inch woofers. The larger woofers provide both more low end and higher power handling, making them ideal for high performance home theater applications. As with the original series the woofers pivot 17 degrees to allow the critical midrange frequencies to be directed towards the listener. A new WavePlane design better directs the pivoting tweeters critical high frequencies. None of this technology protrudes into the room as it remains conveniently flush behind the speaker grill, even when pivoted. The Jawz wire connection system allows easy wiring of all models. Speaker depth remains the same as the original series of AIM, allowing for speakers to be installed in almost all applications.
