New Line Home Entertainment's ""The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers Extended Edition"" dominated the 2004 Home Entertainment DVD Technical Awards, which were announced today by the Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA). The Home Entertainment DVD Technical Awards honor DVD titles that have demonstrated the most innovative and entertaining features through the use of the latest DVD technology. The winners were unveiled this morning during the opening ceremonies of VSDA's Home Entertainment 2004, the annual VSDA convention, taking place today through Friday at the Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. ""The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring"" received a total of three DVD Technical Awards, including Best Audio Presentation, Best Commentary, and Best Supplementary Material Presentation. New categories were added this year including Best Overall Presentation - Television Release, which went to ""The West Wing: The Complete First Season,"" Best Overall Presentation-Direct-to-DVD Release, which was awarded to ""The Lion King 1 1/2"" and Best Overall Presentation - Foreign Language Release going MGM Home Entertainment's ""La Femme Nikita Special Edition."" The winners were determined by a panel that is expert in DVD content and features. This year's jurors included Jeffrey D.
