23-Jul-04

Altinex, Inc. announces the release of the DA1934KM, a fiber optic transmitter, and the DA1935KM, a fiber optic receiver. Both units are used to transfer keyboard and mouse data over long distances up to 2,000ft/600m, via fiber optic cable. The basic config-uration of this product can be used to connect a keyboard and mouse to a computer, which may be up to 2,000ft away. With the newly released MT107-204 and MT107-304 MultiTasker cards, these products can be combined to build a large scale, up to 64x64, KVM style matrix switcher for server rooms and data centers. Due to the modularity of the MultiTasker computer video (VGA) switching can be easily added. The DA1934KM and DA1935KM in combination with the MultiTasker system becomes a cost effective solution and alternative to existing large scale Keyboard-Video-Mouse switching systems. The DA1934KM and DA1935KM transmit and receive digital keyboard and mouse data via optical fiber cable. Both units are compatible with Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP, PS/2 keyboards, and a variety of different style mice. Internal memory stores keyboard and mouse settings. The distance between keyboard/mouse and computer may be up to 2,000ft/600m. ""With our new fiber optic technology, ALTINEX has closed the gap between AV and IT signal management. Everything we developed for this new product line may used in either field. This is only the beginning of a new trend that AV specialists and IT managers face in the future. While developing our new product, we quickly learned that both industries will complement each other in the years to come,"" comments Jack Gershfeld, President and CEO.
