While criminally under-recorded in their time, The Screamers were part of the first wave of LA Punk bands. This legendary program is now available on DVD featuring re-mastered sound and video and is recognized as the document of this groundbreaking band. Synths, drums, bass and the incredible performance of vocalist Tomata Du Plenty; so far ahead of their time it is downright scary. While there might be a million ""what ifs"" surrounding this band, at least someone had the frame of mind to film them, live in front of an adoring crowd. Joe Rees of Target Video did just that on Sept. 2, 1978 in San Francisco. Screamers Tracklist: Vertigo Beat Goes On Punish or Be Damned 122 Hours of Fear Another World Last 4 Digits ""The best unrecorded band in the history of rock'n'roll"" - Jello Biafra Bonus includes 3 ultra-rare never before released videos from The Screamers - live from the Target Studios! Plus ""Target Video Reel"" also included which features a healthy sampling of the Target Video archives. The Stranglers were among the predecessors of Punk who began by playing the raucous UK pub band scene. When the notion of punk manifested, The Stranglers were a perfect fit for the movement. Founded in Chiddingfold, England in 1974 by Hugh Cornwell (guits/vox), Jean-Jacques Burnell (bass/vox), Dave Greenfield (keys) and Jet Black (drums), The Stranglers maintained an unmistakable stage presence by always dressing in black and producing a hard, dark, and intriguingly moody sound. This is the classic 1978 line-up of the UK's best art punks captured live in San Francisco on their first US tour. Culling material from their first two albums, this in demand program is now available on DVD. 30 minutes of challenging, high-energy chaos from one of the best of the first wave of British punk rock. Stranglers Track list: Get A Grip On Yourself Burning Up Time Daganham Dave Bring on the Nubiles Dead Ringer London Lady Hanging Around Bonus ""Target Video Reel"" also included which features a healthy sampling from the Target Video archives.
