BDIís popular Vista flat panel TV stand has been reengineered and reintroduced as a brand new unit. Successful in its previous incarnation, the new Vista features numerous modifications and improvements to the original and begins shipping in September of 2004. A huge benefit of the new Vista is the inclusion of a universal mounting system so that virtually any flat panel TV can be mounted to the stand without the use of an additional third party bracket. This makes Vista even more convenient for the consumer and more affordable as they are not required to incur the additional cost of a third party mount. The aesthetic of Vista has changed as well. Now featuring an oval base and curved adjustable shelves, the overall look of VISTA has softened and become less industrial. This is in direct response to the requests of retailers and consumers who are eager for home theater furniture that makes todayís technology feel more ëat homeí. Of course Vista still features many of the elements that made it a hit right off the bat. Both the screen and the shelves can be adjusted to any of Vistaís variable heights. A sturdy steel column provides a strong base for a large flat panel TV (up to 60-inch) and the adjustable tempered glass shelves are a great home for a small home theater system or center channel speaker. Inside the steel column is an intelligent wire management system - thereís even room to mount a power strip in Vistaís column - so all cables and connections are kept neatly out of sight. Vista was engineered by Florida-based designer Louis A. Lara. First introduced in 2002, the new and improved VISTA will be in stores during the fall of 2004. Vista measures 55-inch (H) x 29-inch (W) x 27-inch (D). With a (TV) weight capacity of 225 pounds, it can accommodate TVs up to 60-inches. Suggested list price is $950 with two shelves, $725 without, and is available in a popular powder-coated steel finish. Vista will be on view along with BDIís collections of home theater furniture at the CEDIA EXPO 2004, September 8-12, 2004, in space 527 of the Indianapolis Convention Center.
