Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America (MDEA) Introduces 22-, 30-, 42- and 55-Inch LCD Flat Panel Displays At CEDIA EXPO 2004

Selected Models Feature Integrated Digital Cable Ready HDTV Receivers And High-Definition Personal Video Recorders

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, Inc. has added five new models to its award-winning line of LCD (liquid crystal display) televisions, including two high definition sets with fully integrated HD personal video recorders. The new models, which will ship to selected retailers this year and early next year, will be showcased at CEDIA EXPO 2004 in Indianapolis. Leading the way are the 42-inch LT-4260 and 55-inch LT-5560 Diamond models, which include high-definition personal video recorders (PVRs) with 120-gigabyte hard drives; MPEG SD encoders; CableCARD slots; AMVP2, Mitsubishi's second-generation Advanced Multimedia Video Processor; and PerfectColor 6-way color adjustment. These Diamond series flat panel TVs also come with Mitsubishi's NetCommand 4.0 home theater system control and MediaCommand five-format digital memory card readers. ""Our new Diamond flat panel televisions will set the standard this year,"" said Max Wasinger, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. ""They offer the sharpest digital picture ever available from Mitsubishi, and with the built-in Digital Cable Ready HDTV receivers and HD PVRs, customers will no longer have to cope with unsightly set-top boxes and cables."" Mitsubishi's other new LCDs include the 22-inch LT-2240 and 30-inch LT-3040 Mitsubishi models, and the 30-inch LT-3050 Medallion model. The 22-inch and 30-inch models are HD-upgradeable and include AMVP for precise upconversion of standard definition video signals. Each model also comes with a PC input, matching base and Mitsubishi's PerfectColor technology. The Mitsubishi and Medallion models all feature 1280 x 768 pixel resolution. The 42-inch Diamond model offers 1365 x 768 resolution, while the 55-inch boasts 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, the highest available on an LCD TV screen. In separate announcements, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America introduced its new lines of plasma displays, Digital Cable Ready projection televisions, microdisplay projection televisions, and its expanded line of DVD players, HD digital recorders and receivers, and analog VHS recorders.For additional information about MDEA, visit www.mitsubishi-tv.com.
