First Impressions Theme Theatres, Miami, Florida-based specialty private in-home theatre architects, designers and builders announces introduction of its new custom dyed Acoupak and AcouSculpt Acoustical Management System Paneling acoustically transparent material program at this yearís CEDIA Expo. The company is unveiling a custom color panel program with 1,900 color possibilities for all its acoustical panels. First Impressions president, Jeffrey Smith, C.A.S., says, ìCustom dyed panel material is extremely new in the acoustical panel industry whether it be commercial, home theatre, sound stage, etc., etc. We now have the ability to offer literally any color to match any trim, chair fabric, carpet materials, wood or your babyís eyes. We do so by aligning ourselves with the Pantone International Color Matching System. The Pantone International Color Matching System was created to provide interior designers, architects, manufacturers, and contractors with a ìcommon languageî to clearly specify, communicate and manage color choices of all materials used on a project.î CEDIA Dealers of First Impressions will receive a color selection binder with the 1,900 swatches. Upon receipt of an order, First Impressions will prepare a custom color fabric strike-off within two weeks, present same to the dealer or client for sign-off and then produce the custom dyed acoustically transparent face covering material within an eight week period. The fabric itself is omni-directional, acoustically transparent, fire-rated and has the look and feel of a smooth satin suede. First Impressions also offers a custom color matching service to coordinate with a tile, wood trim, drapery materials, etc., etc., wherein the company uses a spectra-colorimeter that reads and identifies the color values of the exemplar, and matches it to the Pantone International Color Matching System. This is a first in the acoustical panel manufacturing business. The new AcouSuede Acoustically Transparent Face Covering Material now opens doors, especially for the interior design community, to have, literally, any color they can dream of with dying to achieve that desired textile color. The company also invested in proprietary software that calibrates its Design-Architectural Departmentís computer monitors that allow matching of any color of the Pantone International Color Matching System on its CRT computer screen. Then the scan of the actual color goes into an acoustical paneling scheme, or a drapery material to show 3-D visualization. The client sees the actual finished color precisely as it will be before the AcouSuede is ever produced and dyed. Utilizing the same Pantone International Color Matching System, First Impressions CinemaCrafters Division who manufactures the award-winning CineLoungerÆ Seating Collection, uses the same system to produce custom-keyed lacquer drink holders to match with standard ìMovie-Houseî Velvet covering material, or any material used. As the drink holders are designed to color match the fabric, with the Pantone International Color Matching System, it is 100-percent the correct color and avoids the ìhit and missî approach the company utilized before in custom blending tints to the desired shading. The true color of the material selected also then passes through a controlled lighting box the company built, which accurately displays daylight, fluorescent, incandescent, and even ultra-violet lighting conditions when matching fabrics and trim components in a predicted lighting scenario that the project will have.
