The RGB/VideoLink M-2 simultaneously transforms computer signals to MPEG-2 format digital video and analog broadcast-standard video in real time. The unit's MPEG-2 full motion video can be transmitted in real time over LAN and WAN networks, providing a cost effective, efficient multipoint video streaming solution for training, simulation, security, surveillance, broadcast, and video teleconferencing.The RGB/VideoLink M-2 performs MPEG-2 encoding 30 (NTSC) or 25 (PAL) frames per second with output resolution up to 720 x 480 pixels. The unit's variable bit-rate encoding provides adjustable compression levels to accommodate image quality, bandwidth and data storage requirements. It supports computer sources up to 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution. The dual function RGB/VideoLink M-2 performs broadcast quality scan conversion and MPEG encoding simultaneously. It outputs the scan converted formats of composite video, S-Video, RGB, and YPbPr component while concurrently streaming MPEG-2 video, to provide versatile monitoring, distribution, and recording capabilities.The M-2 offers both multiple-point multicast and single-point unicast real time MPEG signal transmission over LAN and WAN networks. It includes state-of-the-art data transmission capabilities with Ethernet interface auto-sensing, UDP or RTP-over-UDP transmission with packet shaping to reduce peak bit rates, and powerful Forward Error Correction (FEC) which rebuilds lost packets for consistent, reliable performance.Sophisticated digital signal processing (DSP) and high quality interlacing, with sixteen user selectable flicker filters, ensures optimal image quality with even thin lines appearing stable. Pan and zoom functions offer maximum image viewing flexibility to focus on a particular area of interest or fine tune display adjustments.
