Highlighting the exciting revolution in the audio marketplace, the 2005 International CES will showcase the latest in audio technologies including HD-radio, satellite, broadband, portable entertainment devices and the digital distribution of media. The International CES, the world's largest annual consumer technology tradeshow, will run January 6-9, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nev.""As consumers worldwide continue their love affair with music, the consumer electronics industry continues to provide consumers with an extraordinary number of choices in how, when and where they can listen to their favorite artists,"" said Karen Chupka, Vice President of Events And Conferences for the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International CES. ""From high performance audio products that make you feel like the orchestra is right in your living room to portable music products that allow you to carry your favorite tunes wherever you go to the latest in HD radio and satellite radio products, the 2005 International CES will provide the total audio experience from the who's who list of audio manufacturers.""Whether it's showcasing two-channel audio or multi-channel audio, the International CES is home to the world's largest high-performance audio tradeshow, with more than 230 exhibitors at the Alexis Park Resort. Shuttle buses between the LVCC and Alexis Park will run every 10 minutes. The CEA High-Performance Audio division will hold a special ""Welcome to CES"" reception by invitation only on Thursday, January 6 from 7:00-9:30 p.m. in the Apollo Ballroom of the Alexis Park Hotel.At the Alexis Park, attendees also can nominate their favorite tracks for the new DEMMY Awards. The DEMMY's honor recordings that reflect the highest quality of sound engineering, incorporate natural tonal balance, great clarity of detail, and have a realistic, three-dimensional soundstage. Award categories include best CD, best LP, best high-resolution two-channel, best high-resolution multi channel, best DVD as a movie, and best DVD as a music video or concert. Nominations can be submitted at the International CES at a kiosk on the floor of the Alexis Park, online at www.CE.org/DemmyAwards, or by mailing or faxing in the onsite forms.CONNECTIONS (TM): The Digital Home Conference and Showcase, produced by Parks Associates in partnership with CEA, will host four sessions at the International CES focusing on various aspects of digital consumer entertainment. These interactive sessions will each include an executive panel and will discuss the evolution of the consumer music experience, portable entertainment devices, digital distribution of media and the management of home networks. In addition, the Audio Shoot Out Session will bring together leaders in the latest technologies - HD-radio, satellite and broadband - to address how consumers will listen to music.
