Genesis Announces G7.1c Convertible Loudspeaker System

Genesis Advanced Technologies announces the new Genesis 7.1c ëconvertibleí loudspeaker system. Designed as an Absolute Fidelityô product, the G7.1c is an L/C/R and surround loudspeaker at a value price for Genesis loudspeakers. The G7.1c is equally adept at two-channel, center channel and surround duties.ìSurround music recordings and high quality cinema soundtracks are now a reality, and customers have been exposed to high-value audio experiences in movie theaters and, of course, at live performancesî, explained Genesis Managing Director, Mr. Gary Leonard Koh. ìWe believe that people can, and should, expect the same level of performance in the home, and be able to do so for a reasonable price. The G7.1c is our affordable entry into this level of audio performance; whether two-channel, multi-channel music or full surround cinema.îThe G7.1cís form factor and driver complement allow it to be used as everything from the stereo pair of a dedicated two-channel system, to a compact center channel, or as the side and rear channels of 5.1-channel or 7.1-channel surround cinema systems. ìWeíve utilized the same exclusive ribbon tweeter used in our flagship $135,000 G1.1 systemî, said Arnie Nudell, Genesis Chief Scientist. ìWith an out-of-phase rear-firing tweeter as well, we can offer the advantages of dipole performance.î As the first two-way speaker in the current Genesis line, the G7.1c required the design of a unique new driver. ìWeíve developed what we call a mid-woofer - a 5.5î solid titanium-cone driver that provides us the detail and accuracy of a dedicated midrange driver, with bass performance down to 50Hzî, continued Nudell. ìObviously, extensive LC tuning has been used to achieve this kind of performance from such a tiny cabinet.
