Goldmund Introduces The SR150 Universal Amplifier With Digital Audio Input

4-Feb-05

Announced on January 1st 2005, Goldmund now starts delivering its new Universal Amplifier, the SR150, with some unique specifications. The new Goldmund SR150 Power Amplifier is a Stereo 2 x 150 Watts Power Amplifier using the Goldmund advanced JOB 4 amplification circuit which has ultra-wide bandwidth, low time distortion and accurate transient reconstruction. It is built as a real dual-mono amplifier, with power supply 100% separate for each channel. In addition to the traditional analogue Audio inputs, the Goldmund SR150 Power Amplifier also provides digital SPDIF input and output. The digital input adds new flexibility, allowing the direct connection of the new SR150 with digital Preamplifiers like the recent Goldmund Universal Multi-channel Preamplifier Mimesis 24 and Mimesis 30. In addition to a simpler configuration, minimizing the number of D/A converters in the system, the new SR150 uses digital cable between preamplifier and power amplifier, where connections may be long and analogue interconnects always introduce a significant loss in signal quality.
