Kramer Introduces 3 Port Repeater/Hub Compatible with 800Mbps FireWire Signals

Kramer Electronics, Ltd. is pleased to announce the newest addition to its line of Kramer TOOLSô, the VS-30FW FireWire repeater/hub.The Kramer VS-30FW is a 3 Port FireWire repeater/hub. It is compatible with high speed IEEE1394b 800Mbps (S800) signals. It also supports IEEE1394a legacy FireWire speeds of 400Mbps, 200Mbps, and 100Mbps (S400, S200, S100). In fact, you can connect several devices with different speeds, and the VS-30FW will bridge the gaps.ìThe Kramer VS-30FW is a great tool for professionals needing to extend or expand IEEE1394 FireWire signals in their system,î states Chris Kopin, Vice President of Product Development for Kramer Electronics USA. ìThe VS-30FW is unique in that it supports the IEEE1394b 800Mbps signals and can even connect devices communicating at different speeds.îSeveral Kramer VS-30FW hubs may be cascaded to create up to a 63 port FireWire system. The repeater/hub also allows for ""hot plugging"" or ìhot swappingî and supports Plug-and-Play standards. The machine effectively extends the standard 15 foot (4.5 meter) operation range of DV/FireWire signals, even doubling the range when using appropriate cabling. The VS-30FW has 3 Bilingual IEEE1394b connectors. The Kramer VS-30FW utilizes IEEE1394 bus power, or it can be used with an included external 12V DC power supply. It is housed in a Kramer TOOLS enclosure.The VS-30FWcarries a list price of $120 in the United States and is now in stock and available from Kramer Electronics sales companies around the world.
