Once again, Pioneer Electronics proves their leadership in the advance home theatre arena with the introduction of the industryís first and only 50-inch 16:9 (1.78:1) ready plasma display. The introduction of the PDP-501MC marks Pioneerís entrance into the DTV market. Performance is the cornerstone of the PDP-501MC. With a maximum resolution of 1280 x 768 (XGA) and a combines total of over 980,000 pixels, the PDP-501MC delivers unsurpassed video quality for both video and computer images. This clearly makes for the highest resolution plasma display in the world. For convenience, the PDP-501MC features Pioneerís Format converter, which changes standard NTSC signals to a 768 progressive signal. To accommodate the various aspect ratios found on todayís video sources the PDP501MC has 5 present screen modes: Cinema Wide, Natural Wide, Full (anamorphic), 4:3 and Zoom.
