ELAN Home Systems announces its latest generation of high-end multi-source, multi-zone systems with the HD Series 3000 product. The new system retains the strengths of the HD Series 2000 while adding new lighting control interfaces, phone features and macro programming enhancements. The card-based chassis controller (HDC3000) has been restyled with a new aluminum extruded front panel and vacuum fluorescent display, yet is still compatible with the existing HD Series cards. The HDC3000 will support ELANís new VIA Series full color touchscreens as well as HDP and Z style keypads. New cards are planned for release throughout the next year. LUTRONÆ RS-232 lighting control software will be introduced in Q1í00. The Series 3000 incorporates all the classic ELAN HD features including: zone EQ, whole house music, do-not-disturb mode, source loop through, remote connected sources, independent volume settings for turn-on, doorchimes and paging. New digitally mastered chimes are available with the HDC2050 phone card, which also uses simple telephones to page through in-wall speakers and answer the door through the ELAN doorstation. Ten audio-video sources and up to 22 separate zones can be configured with the new system. The HDC3000 uses the HDC2042 Home Automation Suite, which provides sensing, and contact closure control for external subsystems. IBM PC control can be achieved with the HD/PC software available from ELAN.A typical ten zone Series 3000, retails for $13,500 including keypads, power amplifiers, video controller and a suitably configured master chassis with phone features (in-wall speakers not included in price). Robert Farinelli, President of ELAN Home Systems, says, ""this is an important strategic introduction because it extends an already rich set of features/functions while providing over 10,000 existing HD owners an upgrade path to the future"".The HD Series 3000 predecessors, Series 1000 and Series 2000, were introduced in 1991 and 1994 respectively. ELAN Home Systems markets its multi-source, multi-zone HD product through specialty dealers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America. Availability of the new system is projected for the 1st Quater, 2000.For more information, contact Michael Murray or Shelley White at 606 269 7760x110.
