ELAN Bolsters Power Amplifier Line

ELAN Home Systems announces a new 12-channel power amplifier for multi-room audio distribution. The Z*12c continues the Z*Series family of power amplifiers which is distinguished by the 1.75-inch low profile with multiple power and channel offerings. The Z*12c joins the lineís flagship Z*660 and Z*300 Power Amplifiers. At 20 watts per channel, the Z*12c is an excellent alternative for powering multiple zones of in-wall speakers inexpensively. The new amp also includes a ""channel group"" busing feature that provides the installer the ability to configure combinations of mono and stereo channels with four channels within each group. Paul Starkey, Executive Vice President of ELAN Home Systems says, ""the expanded line-up provides a flexible set of options for the custom installer to meet any customer need at reasonable price points"". Added Starkey, "" we expect our dealers will use all three models for the different sound and power requirements of various areas of the home"". ELAN also announces new features for its popular Z*300 two-channel power amp include gain adjustments, three pair of (right/left) speaker outputs and remote 12V activated muting. The Z*300 is stable to 2ohms and supports up to 4 pair of 8ohm speaker pairs without impedance matching protection. The Z*12c which will ship Q1, 2000, carries a suggested retail of $749 making it one of the most cost effective amplifiers on the market.. ELANís two-channel Z*300 and six-channel Z*660 carry suggested retails of $599 and $820 respectively. All models are available in bookshelf and rack mount versions.
