Pioneers Electronicsí New Audio Video Receivers Offer Advanced Digital Features and Expandability

Continuing their commitment to provide the finest home theatre products in the industry, Pioneer Electronics introduces six new audio/video receivers who set the standard for flexibility and performance. Containing features such as Dolby Digital, DTS Digital Surround, 6-channel inputs, and multiple assignable digital inputs, this new line of receivers offers consumers and unsurpassed home theater experience at any price point. The heart of any great home theatre system is the receiver, and Pioneer has raised the ante for value, power, and performance for consumers with this new product line-up. Features normally reserved for flagship pieces have been included down the line at newly accessible price levels. For the ultimate in flexibility and performance the VSX-D608 has it all, equipped with both Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, the VSX-D608 is ready to take advantage of all available multi channel digital formats. In addition to Dolby Digital and DTS decoding, thee VSX-D608 has a set of 6-channel inputs, which allows consumers to upgrade to future multi channel formats, such as DVD-Audio. To provide the highest quality video switching, the VSX-D608 receiver has S-Video inputs for all 5 inputs. S-Video connections allow higher resolution sources to transfer from high quality sources such as DVD, LaserDisc, and Satellite. The four assignable digital inputs, a digital output for digital recorders, and S-Video switching, make the VSX-D608 the heart of an advanced home theatre system. Listed below are the features found in the 1999 Pioneer Electronics receiver line-up: Dolby Digital/DTS Decoding For the ultimate in surround sound, Pioneer offers 3 digital surround receivers. In addition to the VSX-D608, which provides decoding for both Dolby Digital and DTS from sources such as DVD, LaserDisc and Compact Disc, the VSX-D508 and VSX-D498 provide Dolby Digital decoding. All three of these receivers feature a set of 6 channel inputs for expandability. Midnight Mode For late-night movie watching the VSX-D608, VSX-D508, and the VSX-D498 features a Pioneer Exclusive feature called Midnight Mode. Midnight Mode enhances the realism (Dynamic Range) in the surround channels without effecting the overall sound pressure level. This allows the consumer to enjoy the realism of Dolby Digital/DTS/Pro Logic without waking up the rest of the family. 6-Channel Inputs Consumers looking for expandability in an audio/video receiver will be delighted with Pioneerís new lineup of A/V receivers. All four receivers have a set of 6-channel inputs allowing them the flexibility of adding an outboard surround decoder, DVD Player with 6-channel outputs, or even a DVD-Audio Player.
