Marantz America at CEDIA, September 24-26, is presenting its new top of the line SRñ18 home theatre receiver. The state of the art SRñ18 commemorates the 30th anniversary of the legendary Marantz Model Eighteen. In addition to the SRñ18ís DolbyÆ Digital and DTSÆ Digital Surround sound performance, the THXÆ Ultrañcertified SRñ18 also provides Dolby ProLogicÆ and Dolby SurroundÆ decoding, along with a variety of additional surround modes including enhanced surround modes including enhanced surround from two-channel music sources. Complementing its total surround sound versatility, the SRñ18 incorporates THX 5.1 postñprocessing, for the most accurate possible reproduction of movie soundtracks in the home. The SRñ18 incorporates the most advanced DSP processing circuitry designed, with 96kHz/24ñbit decoding for the highest possible fidelity and bandwidth, and highñresolution playback of 96/24 DVDñAudio discs. The DSP circuitry operates entirely in the digital domain. The SRñ18 delivers high power outputñ140 watts (into eight ohms) of high ñ current amplification into each of the five main channels, for clear and powerful reproduction of even the most demanding action movie soundtracks and discrete 5.1 ñ channel music discs at ""realñlife"" volume levels.
